Social Media Marketing included into your business does not mean you have absolutely nothing to work on.
Its absolutely about Strategy, you require strategy and you require planning. Getting the essentail information for your campaign however big or small, will tell you what you need to know. No matter what the business, this will always be the part you must do. Lack of preparation is where many fail.
Lets say you run a campaign for your book with Social Media Marketing as part of your mix. You want to see if Facebook ads or Google ads are going to get the most traction. The only way to get the information you need is to have someone at first that knows what they are doing, but next a tracking that tells you what works best for your audience. You run this campaign to find out which ads would be most cost effective for your market. So you if you had no plan would not think of the forethought involved. The sort of plans may require a demographic specific to your business, finding your market, doing an analysis of keywords online, running the ads or perhaps getting someone to run those ads for you. If you run them without any planning, then you would not know which worked the best, which one is most cost effective and also where you made your profits. Also perhaps where you are wasting your time. Its wasted money in any type of marketing plan with out some planning and strategy.
If your business is serious to you, this has to be part of your mix. I would suggest a company that has a track record, one that can handle the whole mix or a training that would give you all the essential information. If you can do it, maybe you would have to plan your time also and where you would delegate jobs you have not the time for.
This entry was not to scare people not to use online methods, its merely getting past anyone that thinks they can make up a profile and know a site then they think they know how to do all this type of makreting. Also with how many hours we all have in a day, many outsource to give the leverage so they can manage their campaigns better.
This article is meant to show you there is planning & strategy required, also it all takes time. You if your doing it yourself would be to your advantage of learning the areas that would assist your execution of your plans. Take a bit of time to look at your goals, plans, time, time frame for marketing and get your thoughts clear on your objective. This will give you an edge also let you think outside the box as that works very well with any marketing.

One Advice Only

I was put on the spot yesterday. My situation was this: I had to pass on only one advice for those getting started in Social Media. I only had 140 spaces and it could only be one.
I was at a dilema so I thought, there is so much to know so much to teach, learn pass onto others.
I pondered:
- Tools
- Trainings
- Systems
- Management
- Content
- so much more………
It took me 15 minutes to write what I left on that page.
I remembered the fundamental heart of what Social Media is, it is people. It’s a persons attraction, their style that attracts others.
What really helps in Social Media is being original, not like the crowd. Somethings do not need the wheel reinvented but human nature is different.
My advice ended up being, “keep it real”.
To me this means, being yourself and letting your personality show through. Your unique, no one else thinks, looks or writes the same way you do. Now thats the best advice I could give. This advice in itself would stop fading into the background, this sets people apart.
